Musculoskeletal disorders are the leading cause of disability in the United States and they account for more than one-half of all chronic conditions in people older than age 50 years.
Beyond the statistics, the human toll is great: What could have been our golden years enjoying more time with family and friends for many people become a time struggling with increasing loss of mobility, growing pain and the gradual loss of independence and freedom.
Fortunately, there are many things we can do to stack the odds in our favor and help prevent the musculoskeletal deterioration that precedes chronic pain and disability.
